Nothing can quite compare to the thrill of sim racing. Breakneck speeds, exciting fights for positions, and squeezing every last thousandth of a second out of your lap time are just a few reasons for the ever-growing popularity of virtual racing.
But driving in a sim can also be a slower, more relaxed experience. Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS 2) delivers exactly that.
Euro Truck Simulator has first been released in 2012. The minimum settings and recommended settings should be covered quite well by modern PCs, and even older rigs should have little trouble running the game. Having at least the minimum 8 GB of RAM is crucial though for a good gaming experience with Euro Truck Simulator 2.
As the name suggests, Euro Truck Simulator 2 gets you behind the wheel of a multitude of different trucks, cruising through Europe and delivering goods across the continent. Featuring more than 60 cities from the UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Poland, and many more with famous landmarks and structures, ETS 2 delivers one of the most faithful recreations of public roads in the sim world.
Aside from driving, you run and grow your own business – building your own fleet of trucks, garages, and drivers. Convoy multiplayer mode even lets you play and deliver with your friends online.
Since the forces in trucking are usually not as high as in racing, even a lower-power wheel base like the CSL DD can give you great feedback. If you want more power, you can always upgrade your wheel base later – all your other accessories will still be compatible and work perfectly.
For the steering wheel, you should definitely go with a round wheel – preferably with a large diameter like the ClubSport Steering Wheel Classic 2 V2.
For mounting your wheel base, the ClubSport DD Table Clamp is an excellent choice if you want to turn your desk into a driver’s cabin. You can even invert the base, more closely mimicking a real truck setup. Inverting your wheel base is also possible with the CSL Cockpit if you want a dedicated sim rig. And despite its name, the ClubSport Cockpit GT offers multiple adjustment options, including the ability to simulate a truck-style seating position.
Combining these with a 3-pedal setup like the CSL Elite Pedals V2 or ClubSport Pedals V3 and a ClubSport Shifter SQ V1.5 will give you an even more realistic trucking feeling.
