When it comes to racing, few disciplines come close to the intensity of Rally. With zero margin for any errors, Rally racing demands highest concentration, precision, and fearlessness. With Assetto Corsa Rally, your skills will certainly be put to the test.
The above mentioned recommended specs should give you a good driving experience at 1080p, 60 frames per second when using medium graphics settings. Keep in mind that a SSD is required to run the game smoothly. Most modern PCs have SSDs installed already. If you don’t have a SSD yet – prices have come down considerably over the last years, so now might be the time to upgrade.
AC Rally first launches as an early access title on Steam. 10 licensed cars and 4 rally stages will be available, with more to come later on. Game modes like Rally events and time attack with online leaderboards, free practice, Rally weekend, and single stage will also be part of the package.
Wheel Base
To feel the most of the road, a direct drive wheel base is your go-to. The CSL DD is the most affordable Fanatec base at the moment. If you want even more detail and force through your wheel, both the ClubSport DD and Podium DD will deliver just that.
Steering Wheel
In your sim rig, the steering wheel will be your direct connection to the virtual road. For starters, the CSL Elite Steering Wheel WRC is a good fit. It is officially licensed by the World Rally Championship and perfect for mastering the most demanding rally stages.
For the ultimate virtual Rally experience, you won’t get any closer in your sim as with the Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally – featuring the genuine Sparco R383 and Podium Button Module Rally used in the 2022 and 2023 Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 WRC.
Pedals
A good pedal set is extremely important in sim racing. A set with a clutch pedal is recommended, especially if you plan to drive cars with manual transmission. The CSL Pedals LC offer a great entry point, and also come with a load cell brake pedal for more realistic brake feel.
For even more immersion, you can also consider the CSL Elite Pedals V2 or ClubSport Pedals V3 (also available as an inverted pedal set).
If you want to build a set up from scratch, Fanatec’s configurator will guide you through everything you might need. For more advice on Rally racing in general, be sure to check our other Explorer articles.
