The 2026 F1 Sim Racing World Championship heads back to Biggin Hill this week for Event 3, with three more races set to shape both championship battles.
Following Event 2 at the Formula 1 Media & Technology Centre, the field remains tightly packed as drivers prepare for races at Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, and Circuit of the Americas.
Round 4 at Jeddah round immediately tested drivers with the circuit’s high-speed walls and limited margins for error. Having won the previous round in Bahrain, Jarno Opmeer continued his strong form to win again in Jeddah in dominant style by over 3 seconds, cementing his title challenge for this season.
A thrilling race in Barcelona escalated to a controversial Turn 1 incident, ending with Otis Lawrence taking the checkered flag after another pole position.
Silverstone closed Event 2 with a closely fought race in wet conditions, with Otis Lawrence continuing his qualifying dominance and finishing with his second win of the season. Frederik Rasmussen had a thrilling battle with Thomas Ronhaar for the other podium positions. Rewatch the final race below:
The standings remain extremely competitive heading into Event 3.
The consistency of the two Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing drivers ensure they continue to be the benchmark, but Alpine Sim Racing remains firmly in contention for the team championship.
The 2026 season has already demonstrated how difficult it is to build momentum across consecutive events. Strong qualifying performances have repeatedly determined race outcomes, especially with the overall level of competition so closely matched.
With six rounds still remaining after Event 3, both driver and team championships remain wide open.
Fanatec hardware continues to form the foundation of the F1 Sim Racing World Championship setup.
Drivers compete using the ClubSport Racing Wheel F1® package, consisting of the ClubSport DD+ Base, now capable of up to 18 Nm holding torque following the recent firmware upgrade, and an officially licensed F1 steering wheel, with most drivers opting for the Podium Advanced Paddle Module (sold separately). They use CSL Elite Pedals V2 in a two-pedal configuration, with everything installed on the ClubSport Formula Cockpit with custom liveries created by each team. (The sim rig itself is currently only sold for event use and is not available for home users.)
