Setting up your CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision GT is straightforward, but doing it correctly ensures the best performance. This guide walks you through the full process—from unboxing to calibration—so you can start racing with confidence.
Inside the package, you’ll find the Porsche Vision GT Steering Wheel, a quick start guide, and a Fanatec sticker set.
Before installation, make sure your base-side Quick Release (QR) is upright—the rounded side should be on top. This ensures correct alignment. Slide the wheel onto the shaft; you can either do this directly or by squeezing the QR sleeve before sliding it on. The design prevents incorrect installation.
Head over to Fanatec.com and download the latest driver package. Save the file, run the installer, and select either the 32-bit or 64-bit version, depending on your system. You can also install the Fanatec Tray App, which is optional but recommended if you want to link with the Fanatec mobile app. Restart your PC after installation.
Connect your Wheel Base to your PC via USB and ensure it’s in PC mode. Use the supplied USB cable. Launch the Fanatec Control Panel and check for firmware updates. If updates are available, click “Open Firmware Manager,” then “Update,” and follow the on-screen instructions. When finished, close the Firmware Manager to complete the process.
To calibrate the center position, press the Tuning Menu button (the Porsche crest), then manually align the wheel to the center. If the display shows “CAL” (typically after a firmware update), complete the process by pressing the indicated button combo. The message will disappear once calibration is complete.
If you're using the ClubSport Shifter, start calibration via a specific button combo (outlined in your manual), then follow prompts to select gears.
For shifter paddle calibration, enter the Tuning Menu, press both calibration buttons, and simultaneously pull both paddles. Once “SHIFTER CAL OK” appears on the display, you’re done.
Switch between modes (e.g., PC, PlayStation) with a designated button combo. Your wheel includes two tuning menus:
Use the FunkySwitch™ to navigate settings like force feedback, sensitivity, and brake force. Long-press the Tuning Menu button to toggle between standard and advanced modes. Changes in “Auto Setup” may be game-dependent.
Choose your MPS mode via the Tuning Menu or Fanatec Control Panel:
