A closer look at ClubSport Pedals V4: A new chapter for a Fanatec classic

Last updated:

At SimRacing Expo Frankfurt 2026, Fanatec surprised visitors with an early look at ClubSport Pedals V4, the first ground-up redesign of the ClubSport Pedals since the original set introduced in 2008.

The new pedals are being developed for launch in 2027, drawing on the engineering behind our flagship Podium Pedals platform while bringing new ideas to the ClubSport range.

A legacy dating back to 2008

The legendary ClubSport Pedals (V1) from 2008.

The original ClubSport Pedals were a landmark product in Fanatec's history. At a time when most consumer sim racing pedals were imprecise and lacking feel, they helped establish a new standard for construction quality and mechanical sophistication.

The ClubSport Pedals V2 and V3 introduced substantial improvements over the years, but both retained much of the fundamental architecture of the original design.

ClubSport Pedals V4 represents a fresh start. The new design benefits from nearly two decades of Fanatec experience in pedal development, including the extensive engineering work behind the latest Podium Pedals.

A shared design philosophy

ClubSport Pedals V4 shares much of its design approach with Podium Pedals, including selected mechanical components and tool-free adjustments.

The new construction combines cast and CNC-machined aluminum components, with material choices and dimensions optimized for the ClubSport range. This allows the pedals to retain a strong structure while occupying a more accessible price category.

The brake incorporates an elastomer-based mechanism with adjustable preload, allowing drivers to tailor the resistance and feel. Like Podium Pedals, it features metal cups that prevent over-compression, but the cups are simplified, without the threaded adjustment of its heavyweight sibling. The clutch also features an adjustable bite point with an innovative mechanism for changing feel.

Although the overall design is closely related to Podium Pedals, ClubSport Pedals V4 has been developed with its own mechanical characteristics. The aim is to offer a broad range of pedal feel, including softer configurations suited to drivers who prefer less resistance.

Designed for a wider range of drivers

Podium Pedals were engineered for exceptionally high forces and demanding use, with a focus on maximum strength and durability. ClubSport Pedals V4 takes a different approach to some of those requirements, allowing a more compact design and greater accessibility.

ClubSport Pedals V4 is expected to ship as a three-pedal set including mounting plate and adjustable heel rest, and it is intended to occupy the middle of the Fanatec pedal range, providing an option for enthusiasts seeking extensive mechanical adjustment without moving into the flagship Podium category.

Looking ahead to 2027

The ClubSport Pedals V4 shown at SimRacing Expo is still in development, and specifications may change before production. Final pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed.

The response to the early reveal has given us plenty to build on, and we look forward to sharing more details as development progresses.
