WARNING!

Musculoskeletal disorders

Use of game controllers, keyboards, mice, or other electronic input devices may be linked to serious injuries or disorders. When playing video games, as with many activities, you may experience occasional discomfort in your hands, arms, shoulders, neck, or other parts of your body. However, if you experience symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensation, or stiffness, DO NOT IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS. PROMPTLY SEE A QUALIFIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL, even if symptoms occur when you are not playing a video game. Symptoms such as these can be associated with painful and sometimes permanently disabling injuries or disorders of the nerves, muscles, tendons, blood vessels, and other parts of the body. These musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, vibration syndromes, and other conditions.

While researchers are not yet able to answer many questions about MSDs, there is general agreement that many factors may be linked to their occurrence, including medical and physical conditions, stress and how one copes with it, overall health, and how a person positions and uses their body during work and other activities (including playing a video game). Some studies suggest that the amount of time a person performs an activity may also be a factor. If you have questions about how your own lifestyle, activities, or medical or physical condition may be related to MSDs, see a qualified health professional.

8. ANALOGUE PADDLE MODES

To switch the Mode of your Podium Advanced Paddle Module you need to enter the Tuning Menu. This can be accessed using the Fanatec Control Panel, FanaLab or a button/display module. Use the center multi-position switch A, B, C, or D if available on the selected steering wheel. (E.g: ClubSport Formula V2)

There are two ways to operate the clutch bite point. In both cases, the paddle mode switch must always be set to position A.

NOTE: For a more detailed and hands on explanation, see our video tutorials on YouTube.

1. Simplified mode:

  • Press both clutch paddles simultaneously to 5% level or more to activate, move both paddles up to 100%.
  • Release one paddle while keeping the other fully pressed. The display now shows the percentage value of the released paddle while the car’s clutch is still fully pressed.
  • Set the released paddle to the percentage where your car’s clutch starts to bite (recommended to evaluate by conducting multiple launch starts).
  • As soon as the virtual start lights turn to green, completely release the fully pressed paddle and the clutch is immediately at the bite point, held by the other paddle.
  • Release the second analogue paddle once a suitable speed is reached for the optimum launch.

2. Advanced mode:

  • Completely press and hold one analogue paddle.
  • Press the FunkySwitch™ D-pad stick down.“100“ will be shown on the display. Rotate the FunkySwitchTM in order to change the percentage of the bite point as desired to suit your car (recommended to evaluate by conducting multiple launch starts).
  • Release the paddles to set and store the value. Note: You can have individual stored value for each Tuning Menu slot S_1 ... S_5.
  • At race start pull both paddles again to activate the bite point mode, release one of these paddles and the clutch will immediately be at the bite point.
  • Release the second analogue paddle once a suitable speed is reached for the optimum launch.
