Fanatec Steering Wheels In-game

Sim racing is one of the few genres in gaming where the real and virtual world can merge almost completely. Along with driving physics, one of the most obvious aspects in this case is the representation of real-world cars and tracks. Adding to the immersion is seeing your actual steering wheel in-game or vice versa. Here are a few Fanatec products that blend different worlds seamlessly.

The M4 GT3 wheel was the first of its kind. Being developed in cooperation with BMW M Motorsport, this wheel is not only a replica, but the real deal used in the actual car, but can also be used with Fanatec wheel bases in a sim.
The wheel has since withstood thousands of miles on track in the most demanding and extreme circumstances, scoring more than 70 wins and 120 podium finishes. With the BMW M4 GT3 being hugely successful in the real world, it has naturally also found its way into numerous sims. Among others, you can see it in iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, LeMans Ultimate, and RaceRoom.

Another Fanatec product that was used in real racing is the Podium Button Module Rally (PBMR). Designed in collaboration with the M-Sport World Rally Team, the Podium Button Module Rally is a feature-packed device used in the 2022 and 2023 Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 WRC car. This module assisted nine-time world champion Sébastien Loeb to victory at the 2022 Monte Carlo Rally. 2019 World Champion Ott Tänak went on to win the 2023 Rally Sweden and Rally Chile.
The Button Module Rally can be purchased as part of the Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally, which also includes a genuine Sparco® R383 wheel rim. There is also an Xbox compatible bundle which includes a high-quality replica of the Sparco® rim.
Aside from it’s use in Rally, the PBMR can be used with a large variety of wheel rims and is a great fit for many different racing disciplines.

The CSL Elite Porsche Vision GT is the officially licensed Porsche Vision Gran Turismo concept car wheel. The car was the first Porsche concept car study designed exclusively for a game. Freed from the constraints of production regulations, the designers pushed the boundaries of creativity. The wheel takes familiar cues from modern Porsche design and adds more dynamic proportions. Although (aside from prototypes and models) you will likely not spot this car and steering wheel “in the wild”, it is part of Gran Turismo® 7. Here, Fanatec’s wheel delivers a seamless, immersive driving experience – both in looks and functionality.
