Why is my wheel base not being recognized by my PS4/PS5?

1) Make sure that your wheel base is PS4/PS5 compatible.

2) Make sure your wheelbase is in PS mode (Indicated by blue power LED and PS4 stated in the top left corner of the OLED screen of the Podium DD1 PS4 base).

3) Press the PS Button in order to have your wheel base recognised as a controller on your PS4/PS5 console.

4) Make sure your wheelbase has the latest firmware installed. In order to do this, please check the following steps:

  • Connect your wheelbase to a Windows PC
  • Install the latest driver package. The download link can be found on the wheelbase product page on our website.
  • Open the Firmware Update manager by clicking on the update tab in the Fanatec wheel property page and perform all of the available firmware updates.

On the hardware end, please check the following:

  • Make sure you have the base connected to your PS4/PS5 via the USB cable directly and without using any USB hubs or extenders.
  • Inspect the USB port on the wheelbase for any visible damage.

In case any damage is spotted on the hardware or the solution above did not help, please reach out to the Fanatec technical support for further assistance. Please also make sure to let them know what troubleshooting steps you have performed on your own.
