With the first iteration already being received very positively in the racing community, Wreckfest 2 aims to one-up itself in all areas. The frantic and chaotic racing the series is known for is back as an early access title on Steam, so this is your chance to also shape the final release of the game.

The developer’s minimum requirements should let you run Wreckfest 2 with 30 FPS at 1080p with low graphics settings. The recommended settings should give you performance at about 60 FPS and high settings. Keep in mind that the game is still in its early access phase. This means that the developer is still constantly optimizing the game, leading to overall better performance. Settings can also always be tweaked by yourself to get a nice balance between performance and graphical fidelity.
Wreckfest 2 builds on the foundation of its predecessor and expands upon it. The true-to-life physics simulation engine is being rebuilt to take advantage of modern gaming hardware. The game is still defined by its reckless, full-contact racing with no rules to embrace chaos unlike in other, more “traditional” racing games. The developers are regularly releasing updates including cars, routes, tracks, and other features and optimizations. Note that these can also refer to optimizations for game controller and steering wheel support.
The full release for Wreckfest 2 is scheduled for early 2026. Console versions for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation® 5 consoles are also being worked on by developer Bugbear and are expected to release some time after the full PC launch. To stay up-to-date, you can check the game’s Steam page or official website.
