Wreckfest System Requirements and Recommended Specs

Sim racing and racing in the real world require a lot of discipline – both when it comes to practicing, but also your race craft on track when competing against others. Respect and adhering to rules are of paramount importance to ensure a fair playing field. If you want to break the rules from time to time and get into some full-contact racing, it might be time for you to try Wreckfest.

If your PC meets the minimum system requirements, the game will run at approximately 30fps at 1080p. The recommended requirements will increase the framerate to about 60fps. Make sure to have at least the recommended 8 GB of RAM installed in your system. If you want to play online, a broadband internet connection with a low ping is recommended to have the best experience.

As usual for gaming on PC, you can always tweak the game’s settings to your liking. If you want to have better performance, you can always adjust your graphics settings in the game’s menu. Generally speaking, higher settings like resolution, texture quality etc. will decrease your fps values, while turning them down will increase them.

Contrary to more “traditional” sims, Wreckfest – as the name implies – fully embraces destruction. With no penalties for contact on track with other cars, it features demolition derbies and more traditional track racing. In addition to regular cars, lawn mowers, crop harvesters, school buses, and three-wheelers are also at your disposal to unleash chaos. You can either play single player or take part in frantic multiplayer battles with up to 24 players.

Based on the car roster, we recommend getting a round or D-shaped wheel. The CSL Steering Wheel P1 V2 or CSL Steering Wheel BMW are good for starters and offer everything you need at an affordable price point. If you are after a more immersive experience, consider the ClubSport Steering Wheel RS or ClubSport Steering Wheel BMW M3 GT2 V2. Both feature high quality materials and dimensions derived from real cars and are great allrounders for all kinds of vehicles and sims.

If you don’t have a PC, Wreckfest is also available for PlayStation 4® and PlayStation 5® consoles, as well as Xbox Series and Xbox One consoles.

If you race on PlayStation, you’ll need a PS-compatible wheel base like the Gran Turismo® DD Pro or ClubSport DD+. Having one of these bases, you can use every steering wheel, pedal set and accessory in Fanatec’s ecosystem.

When playing on Xbox, you can use any Fanatec wheel base as long as you pair it with an Xbox-compatible steering wheel. Just as mentioned before, this combination will also allow you to use any other Fanatec equipment.
