ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ owners can now access higher torque through a free firmware update in the latest Fanatec App. Once installed, the ClubSport DD increases from 12 Nm to 15 Nm holding torque, and the ClubSport DD+ rises from 15 Nm to 18 Nm holding torque.
This affects the PlayStation licensed bundles that also use the ClubSport DD+. ClubSport Racing Wheel F1® and Gran Turismo® DD Extreme are now both 18 Nm packages.
No hardware changes are required. The update applies to all existing units, using the same power supplies. Installation follows the standard firmware update process within the app, with settings preserved and ready to fine-tune once complete.
This upgrade stems directly from the development of the Podium DD released in early 2026. That base uses the same motor architecture found in the ClubSport DD series. During development, further efficiency and control improvements were identified at the firmware level.
These refinements made it possible to extract additional performance from the existing ClubSport DD hardware without compromising stability or reliability. The result is a higher torque ceiling delivered through a simple, free update.
Moving ClubSport DD from 12 Nm to 15 Nm is a major boost - 25% more torque. The most noticeable difference is in headroom. With more available torque, the system can reproduce stronger forces without compressing detail in the mid range.
You may find that fast direction changes feel more responsive, kerb strikes carry more weight, as the base is working further from its limit during typical driving. There should be a clearer separation between lighter and heavier forces, which in turn should improve your consistency and your feeling of engagement with the car.
The step from 15 Nm to 18 Nm on ClubSport DD+ is a 20% increase, with further gains in dynamic range. Again, this means even greater contrast between fine surface detail and major load changes. The wheel can deliver stronger forces when needed, particularly through sustained high-G corners, while maintaining precision in the background.
This additional range supports a more stable and informative signal, rather than simply increasing resistance at the rim.
This increase in performance follows extensive validation. It has been tested over months across a wide range of use cases, conditions, and driving styles to ensure consistent behavior. Thermal performance, signal stability, and long session reliability were all key focus areas throughout development. The result is a measured upgrade that maintains the expected durability and control of the ClubSport DD platform while unlocking additional headroom.
Improvements to CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro Bases are coming soon.
