New driver 410 available for all products

    Changelog since driver 402

    Driver UI

    • New driver UI for CSL DD and Podium wheel bases. Will be rolled out for more wheel bases later. The old UI can still be accessed through the "USB-Gamecontroller" overview of windows.
    • Fixed Tuning Menu tab showing tool tip of APM setting even with no APM attached.
    • Correct wheel base is now displayed even when in Compatibility Mode.
    • Removed option to choose wheel base when Podium DD is in Comp V2.5 mode (no longer required due to improved detection).
    • Changed Tuning Menu setting LIN ON/OFF to FFS LIN/PEAK (Force Feedback Scaling).

    Firmware Manager

    • Fixed button at the end of shifter calibration being incorrect.
    • Fixed issue where updater would erase existing flash even when FW could not load correctly for flashing.
    • Option to save Tuning Menu settings during firmware update is now hidden instead of grayed out if base doesn't support this function.
    • Added text "No update required" for steering wheels that are not firmware-updatable.
    • Text correction for description of Podium DD motor sensor calibration.

    Firmware Overall

    • Fixed steering angle not being linear after a firmware update.
    • Fixed issue where a combination of Formula V2, H-pattern shifter, and second shifter could lead to an inverted shifter input.
    • While in BRF setting the LEDs now flash when 100% brake input is reached.

    CSL DD

    • Fixed constant vibration noise of the motor which could give a grainy feeling and be audible which results in a smoother feeling.
    • Fixed damper effect from games being rough and noisy, for example in AC when car is standing still.
    • The 'Damper' effect modifier (DPR) is now scaled differently and is able to be stronger. Depending on how a game uses this damper, it might feel too strong for some users, but this can be easily adjusted with the DPR setting in the Advanced Mode of the Tuning Menu.
    • Fixed BRF setting not being adjustable in single steps with D-Pad up/down.
    • Fixed BLI setting shown as "oFF" instead of "OFF".
    • Fixed wrong FFS setting values on 7-segment displays.
    • Improved rotation during boot up which is now smoother and less rapid.

    Podium DD

    • Renamed Tuning Menu setting LIN to FFS (Force Feedback Scaling). ON -> LIN and OFF -> Peak.

    Formula V2

    • Fixed Thumb Encoders being unresponsive on PS4.

    Button Module Endurance

    • Fixed Xbox Guide button short press not working and leading to long press function.
    • Fixed 2-way toggle switches not working on PS4.
    • Fixed cosmetic issues where BME Tuning Menu differed from Podium DD display.
    • Fixed BME showing high-torque message when attached to CSL DD.

    Universal Hub + APM

    • Fixed upper APM paddles not working on PS4.

CSP V3 & CSL EP LCK

    • Improvements to the pedal type detection when connected to the wheel base

    • In some cases after all firmware updates are complete, the wheel might ask for another centre calibration which can be performed either via the driver UI or the button combination of the connected wheel which is mentioned in its Quick Guide.
    • New UI doesn't yet remember if a different product picture was chosen by the user and reverts back to default when opened again.
    • The CSL DD power button pulses when opening the UI which doesn't affect functionality.
    • The CSL DD power button colour can appear different during the mode change but will be correct after the mode is completely changed. Does not affect functionality.

    Known Issues

    • Podium wheel base jolts can happen on ITM or analysis screens of the wheel base display. A workaround is to use the default screen with “Fanatec” logo while driving. We are still working on a fix which needs an extensive re-write of the P DD firmware which is why it takes so long. We are still working on a fix for this issue and it has high priority. It's taking so long because the fix needs a re-write of a big and important part of the firmware.
    • Some customers experience the issue that wheels with 7-segment display are running in low torque on the P DD. This doesn't happen for everyone and we were not able to reproduce this yet. Feedback on this issue with hints on how we could recreate it are welcome.
    • In some cases after all firmware updates are done the wheel might ask for another center calibration which can be done either via the driver UI or the button combination of the connected wheel which is mentioned in it's Quick Guide.
    • Some smaller imperfections of the new UI which will be solved in future updates.
    • USB-Adapter and Pedals plugged in via USB need to get accessed through the USB Gamecontroller overview of windows as they are not yet implemented into the new UI. This will be added in one of the next updates.

How to use the new function to collect log files

    1. Open the new UI via the desktop short cut or search for "Fanatec Control Panel".
    2. Go to the settings page.
    3. Press the "Collect Logs" button.
    4. This may take ~30 sec to collect all log files and put them into a .zip archive.
    5. The folder with the .zip will appear and you can upload it to the forum when reporting an issue.

    • Natural Friction (NFR) can create a weird FFB sensation and not smooth feeling after some time, we suggest to set it to OFF in case you get this issue. You can raise the Natural Damper (NDP) slightly to compensate for less NFR.
    • When entering a game menu while driving in some games it can happen that the FFB effect doesn't get cancelled which results in the wheel turning to one side.

    • When installed the App will be shown in the system tray next to the clock as a black Fanatec logo on white background.
    • The main function of the application is to work as the connection between the PC/hardware and our new mobile app for Android and iOS via the same WiFi network.
    • It has a few additional functions via right click
    • If FanaLab is not running it will forward telemetry data to ITM of the Button Module Endurance and P DD. The benefit of FanaLab is still the additional customization of ITM and being able to switch pages from the FanaLab UI.

    Known Issues

    • When entering a game menu while driving it can happen in some games that the FFB effect doesn't get canceled which results in the wheel turning to one side. (this got now fixed for the Podium DD but can still happen on the CSL DD. We will now apply the fix for the CSL DD as well)

    • Some still report having steering input jumps with the Podium and CSL DD, we are working on solving it for the next version.
