  • I was one of the first wave of buyers of the CSW base when it went on sale a couple of years ago. While I have had it repaired multiple times I still don't see an invite code for the new unit. I also have the Formula Rim, BMW rim, Clubsport Shifter SQ.

Odd that I haven't received a code when my unit was within the first 25 that went out.
  • hi thomas

i have purchased csw f1 rim 04/08/14 my question is approximately when will you send me a pre order mail for new base?a month or two?am i second priority turn for new base pre order? i also will buy carbon f1 rim and v2 pedals too with new base...thanks your answer...
  • Thomas's posts states that emails will be coming in waves over the next few months and that they will send out emails when the products are available for shipping, around end of September or early October.

So David, I think you'll need to wait about 2 to 4 weeks for the first emails to start to come out, but you should have your base by October.
  • do WANT!
  • Hello Fanatec / Thomas,

One question just for clarify, the V1 Base unit will compatible with PS4 rims, or just de new V2 Base?

    Thank you for your attention

  • I think this is a very clever solution to an f'd up situation thanks to Microsoft and Sony Although potentially expensive. 600euro for the base, minimum 80euro for pedals and then at a guess 180euro+ each for an xbox one rim AND a PS4 rim. But I guess we will all probably buy it right! That thing is sexy!!!
  • Thomas, my account history page is missing lots of my purchases :(
As you hopefully know I pre-ordered the CSR Elite wheel day one it was available same with CSS SQ and even the PWTS. I also ordered from you CSP and CSL Seat

Please send me an invite as you know I'm good for the order ;)

  • Is anyone else confused by the usage of direct drive, belt driven, and gear ratio all in the same spec announcement? Is the V2 direct drive or not? If I'm reading it correctly, it seems it's a brushless servo motor using a gear box to increase torque with a belt system to connect it to the wheel shaft. Anyone else get this?
  • Very Nice product!
I've Been with fanatec since the 911 turbo S + CSP in 2010. Then the GT2 wheel in 2011 and the CSR wheel + CSR elite pedal same year. I've purchase also a 2nd hand elite wheel. So I'm hope having an invitation code.
Please let us Know the next gen compatibility asap

Agreed.  The description seems pretty clear that there's belts involved, but the use of "direct drive" confuses things.  I think the claim is that it has the "smoothness, vividness and precision of a Direct Drive wheel combined with a torque increase of about 75%," but it doesn't say the base is a direct drive base.

I'd like to see a video of its internals in action.  That would clear up a lot of questions.

  • Hello Thomas and Fanatec personnel,

I have one question. Is there a plan to provide an upgrade package for the CSWB V1 so we can just swap the internals (and back cover as it seems) with the new ones?

My wheel is freshly out of warranty, if i'm not mistaken, and I'm more than capable of doing it myself (experience with R/C racing pays of in this case :) ). I might upgrade it that way but I don't see myself spending another 500€ when my wheel is still running like new.

    Best regards

  • Marc,

if you want to buy a new car and trade in the old one then the dealer pays you about 10-20% less the market value for the old one so he can also earn some money on it because selling a used car is also an effort.

Selling a base on ebay is easy and I expect prices to be stable as the V1 is far more attractive than many other wheels out there.

Thomas I will be keeping my old old base for spare. I bought the elite, then CSW and just sitting here waiting for email with money in hand.

    Thank you
At least you get the 100,- pre-order discount and this is the best we can do.

  • Thomas

I bought elite wheel, CSW wheel, clubsport sq shifter, clubsport pedals and lots of other small things. Had great luck with all.

Just sitting here waiting on my email with money in hand.

    Thanks for a great product

  • Thomas,

When the time is right, a FAQ for the CSW v2 base would be much appreciated.

Couple (lol ok, more than a couple) questions:

    1. Is it possible to announce which console you have signed a deal with before pre-orders go up?
    2. Is the current universal hub one of the wheels that will work with this console? :)
    3. Will the CSW base v1 continue to be sold?
    4. Will these new "console rims" work with the CSW base v1?
    5. If yes to #4, will attaching these rims enable the CSW base v1 to work on current gen consoles?
    6. Any particular reason you decided to stay with a belt drive system and not go direct drive (pros and cons of DD?) Just curious.
    7. Is the 7NM peak output with or without overclocking?
    8. For the multiple steering wheels at multiple price ranges, I assume that is referring to the console compatibility enabling wheels?
    9. Is the interchangeable steering wheel feature (just that, nothing else) of the universal hub compliant with console manufacturer's rules? (Obviously, buttons will not carry over)
    10. Is there a time table / schedule for sending out invite emails?
    11. Do invites apply to CSW v1 base beta testers?
    12. Even though the CSW v1 base is pretty quiet, has noise changed at all for the v2 base?
    13. After console compatibility is confirmed, is game compatibility still on a game by game basis?

    Thanks!

  • Just for curiosity, does someone knows how powerful is v1 in NN.
According to ISR the v2 has half of the power the Leo B wheel has, but for a quarter of the price... Impressive!!!

    I'd like an invite too.
    Thanks for consideration

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Great job Fanatec/Thomas.

Can't wait for the new base with better motors, more power and increased reliability.  Sounds perfect.

This is the news I was waiting for.  Now the only question is how many rims am I going to buy to accompany this new awesome base.....  decisions, decisions.......... :).
So then we ask if there will be a v1 FW and a v2 FirmWare.
  • Well, I'm in the second group of people having bought the CSPV2. Cannot wait till I get that e-mail! I bought the TX wheel recently and it continually overheated and shut down. Took it back, got a full refund and have the $$ sitting there waiting and hoping for this exact announcement. =D hope the base lives up to the hype.
  • I'm looking forward to seeing this too, also having purchased many of their products; looks like its going to be a long list ;-)

    cant wait

Edited and Flagged. I fail at writing posts.

I asked... If there will be a universal hub adaptor that is compatible with consoles. It would solve wheel rim issues, at least in my Opinion....

I did not mean to quote Thomas saying that. Please forgive me for any confusion.
  • So thrilled!  But the line is long.  Hoping production ramps up or I win an invite.  Would love the upgrade from a CSR.  Really.  Would.  Love.

...and to think I almost pre-ordered the V1 but didn't because I figured this was coming.  All in all, I think it's an awesome move from Fanatec.

  • Thank you Fanatec, I feel the same way about this company as I do about another great German product manufacture BMW. I have own BMY products since my very firts car, they both produce a product that is more of an experince, an emotion you get when behind the wheel. This is why Fanatic will be my choice of Sim periphrial from here out. Just want to say, great job, cant wait to get my hands on this.

  • Dear mr. Thomas,

Can you please send me an invite of the CSW Base V2. I am a past customer of Fanatec US and you can see it on my records here. I just want to have one before my birthday and I know I am not asking too much.

Thanks santa-Thomas for this advance birthday present. :)

    Cheers!

    Your no.1 fan of fanatec,

    Steven
  • I'm waiting for code.

    I'm waiting for code.
    We are all waiting!
I read and read again the presentation page of the CSW BV2 and check my inbox mail every minute. I do not know what are the delay for the waves of emails. Having bought my CSRE in november 2011, I hope I will receive an invitation code very soon. (It is not at all a question to you Thomas, I know your process is well established). We have just to wait... Hours seems like days
