The upcoming Podium Pedals range will include both three- and two-pedal configurations, with the Podium Pedals Mounting Plate and Heel Rest offered as a separate accessory. Like most high-end pedals, Podium Pedals was designed from the outset for each axis to be mounted individually, and most users with a strong sim rig will not need the official Mounting Plate.
Modern sim rigs intended for high-end pedals usually feature robust pedal trays or similar integrated mounting. In these cases, a dedicated mounting plate is usually unnecessary.
By offering the Mounting Plate as a separate product, we can keep the price of the Podium Pedals lower for customers who do not need it, while providing a premium mounting solution for those who do.
The main body of the Podium Pedals Mounting Plate is built from a single piece of extruded aluminum, and it delivers exceptional rigidity and strength; in some cases, it can even improve the stiffness of your rig. Integrated T-slot channels make it easy to install each pedal and make quick lateral adjustments.
The measurement markings make it easier to recreate previous setups or keep track of preferred configurations when experimenting with different pedal positions.
It also has a dedicated location for installing the pedal connection box, and the overall aesthetic compliments the pedal design perfectly.
Of course, if your only requirement is a flat surface to mount the pedals, a simple steel plate can achieve that at a lower cost. The official Mounting Plate is designed for users who want additional adjustability, integration, and a premium finish.
If you have the Podium Pedals Formula but still want the official Mounting Plate, the included Heel Rest is not needed, because you’ll be using the carbon fiber Heel Cups. Whether you need a Heel Rest for the three-pedal set depends on your setup and personal preference.
Driving position and cockpit design make a difference here. Many pedal trays extend forward of the pedals, creating a natural platform for your heels. In these cases, an additional Heel Rest may offer little benefit. And some drivers sit with their feet resting on the pedal faces their heels just ‘float’ without touching anything.
As with the mounting surface itself, a basic heel rest is also easily fabricated at a low cost.
If you use Podium Pedals Formula Heel Cups, the Mounting Plate might be a worthwhile addition if:
If you use the three-pedal ‘GT’ configuration, the Mounting Plate might be worthwhile if:
The individual pedals use a common standard, so they should fit most pedal trays. They feature slots that allow for a small amount of depth adjustment:
You’ll also need to find a spot for the connection box – there is a dedicated location on the Mounting Plate, but if you don’t need the plate, then the box is compact and light enough to be mounted easily to the rig itself. The dimensions are shown below, but it might not be necessary to use bolts – some double-sided tape is usually enough to secure it unless you are using a motion rig.
The Mounting Plate follows the same Fanatec standard as our other pedals, as shown in the image below:
