FullForce has arrived in Gran Turismo® 7 with the Spec III update and marks the first time the technology is available on a PlayStation title. This important milestone enhances the experience on the PlayStation licensed ClubSport DD+ and the Gran Turismo® DD Extreme package.

A new level of feel for PlayStation racers

FullForce is Fanatec’s next-generation force feedback protocol, fusing high-fidelity vibration cues with the core force feedback signal to deliver a more immersive driving experience. Fine details such as engine vibration, traction loss, and road surface variations are transmitted to the driver’s hands with exceptional clarity.

Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, and producer of the Gran Turismo series, shared his thoughts on the update:

“We have worked on compatibility with the Fanatec FullForce technology, and have optimized the settings for each car. The players will now be able to feel rich and accurate information from road surfaces, tires, and the suspension through the steering wheel. We hope you experience the unique characteristics of each car from the wide variety made available in Gran Turismo.”

ClubSport DD+ and the Gran Turismo® DD Extreme

The officially licensed ClubSport DD+ and Gran Turismo® DD Extreme are the flagship PlayStation-compatible Direct Drive packages from Fanatec. The 15 Nm of dynamic range, metal rear bearing seat and shaft, and QR2 quick release all contribute to delivering the fine vibration effects of FullForce in combination with traditional force feedback.

A natural partner in the Porsche Vision GT Wheel

Of course, all Fanatec steering wheels can be connected to the ClubSport DD+ to be enjoyed with Gran Turismo® 7. This includes the CSL Elite Porsche Vision GT, which is already a favorite among Gran Turismo players because it is tailor-made for the game. Its metal internal structure has a high level of stiffness, so the vibrations created by FullForce travel through to the grips with real precision.

What this means for Gran Turismo® 7

Polyphony Digital has tuned FullForce support for each car, so the game now communicates a wider range of sensations. Drivers can feel the road surface change under the front axle or pick up early signs of understeer before it becomes obvious. This update sharpens the experience, bringing the cars and track surfaces to life like never before.
