The ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ wheel bases are the latest and most sophisticated bases in Fanatec’s ecosystem. Both feature state of the art motors and electronics and deliver industry-leading performance in their class. The difference between ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+

From the outside, there is hardly a way to distinguish between the two wheel bases. There is however a difference regarding torque output – so the rotational force your steering wheel delivers to your hands. This is measured in Newton meters (Nm).

ClubSport DD

The ClubSport DD delivers 12 Nm of consistent torque performance. This is usually enough for a lot of sim racers and will cover the forces produced in many real-world racing disciplines.

ClubSport DD+

The ClubSport DD+ delivers 15 Nm of consistent torque. With this amount of extra headroom, the DD+ is even more responsive. The higher torque output can also be beneficial when very heavy steering wheels are being used or if cars without power steering are being simulated.

Note: A few steering wheels will not be able to operate the wheel bases at their full torque levels. Check the specific product descriptions on Fanatec.com

Setup

Setting up the ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ works basically the same for both wheel bases.

Assembly:

  • Begin by securely mounting the ClubSport DD / DD+ Wheel Base to your cockpit or desk. Fanatec offers a range of mounts, including the ClubSport DD Table Clamp, to ensure a stable and sturdy setup.
  • Attach your steering wheel to the wheel base using the Quick Release system. This system ensures that the wheel is easily removable but stays securely in place during use.

Updates:

  • Download and install the latest drivers and/or software directly from the Fanatec website or via the Fanatec App (Windows PC required). This includes the Fanatec Control Panel, which allows you to customize your settings and update firmware.
  • Once the software is installed, connect the ClubSport DD / DD+ to your PC and run the setup tool to ensure that the wheel base is recognized and ready to go.

Calibration:

  • Proper calibration is key to achieving the best and most realistic performance from your base. Use the Fanatec Control Panel (also possible via the Fanatec App) to calibrate the wheel base to set the steering sensitivity and ensure it is aligned correctly with the steering wheel.
  • Additionally, set the force feedback strength according to your preferences. Adjust additional parameters such as natural friction, inertia, or damping to find the ideal balance between realism and comfort.
  • If you do not have access to a Windows PC, all important parameters can also directly be set via your steering wheel in the Tuning Menu (requires a steering wheel with built-in display).
