Should I use gloves to drive with my Fanatec Wheel?

We are often asked if gloves should be used with our steering wheels to keep them in good condition, and this unfortunately cannot be easily answered. Generally, gloves can help keep the steering wheel clean and protect it from sweat, however gloves can also increase the wear of the steering wheel rim material (leather, stitching, etc.) to a much higher level than bare hands would do. Testing all types/brands of gloves is simply impossible, and we cannot make any recommendations in this regard. 

Steering wheels such as the ClubSport BMW GT2 V2 or the CSL Elite WRC steering wheel are covered with Alcántara. If the upper material is dirty, it can be cleaned by using a microfiber cloth, and lukewarm water. Avoid using any chemical cleaning agents!
